When you open a parts catalog, the media viewer will have the following sections:
A) Table of Contents
The table of contents is displayed as a list of chapters and pages. The arrow next to a line item indicates that item is chapter (or sub-chapter). If the arrow is facing right, the chapter is collapsed; if the arrow is facing down, the chapter is exploded. Line items without an arrow are pages.
Note: Any drawings that have more than 1 sheet to them (for example, typically Wiring Diagrams) will be displayed as its own chapter, with each sheet listed as a page.
B) Pagination
Section B contains the previous and next pages which will take you to to either the previous or next page. If you're at the first page of a chapter,
previous page will highlight the parent chapter and that chapter's contents will be displayed in the visual viewer on the right as shown as section H. If you're at the last page of a chapter, next page will highlight the next chapter and that chapter's contents will be displayed in the visual viewer on the right as shown as section H.
C) Table of Contents Toggle On / Off
The arrow facing left will toggle the table of contents default display to off. The table of contents will hide off to the left as a vertical bar, which when rolled over will display the table of contents. To toggle the table of contents back on, click on the tack icon (which replaced the left arrow of section C in the above screen shot).
D) Search Book
You can search the book for any part number or part name here.
Note that the data for part names is coming from SAP, if you can't find something you're looking for, try searching for a different name. For example, a 'torque shaft' is commonly named 'SHAFT,SPLINED' in SAP so that is the name you would have to search for to find the part number for a torque shaft.
E) Printing
TIPS allows you to distill a PDF document of a parts catalog page, chapter, or the entire book. You can then save this PDF document or print a physical copy. See
the Printing & Downloading section of this guide.
F) Related Media
TIPS allows you to relate
media at the Book, Chapter, Page and Part levels. There are two types of related media: you can relate something that already exists on the system to another item on the system (cross-linking), or you can upload as an attachment something from your local machine. See the Related Media section of this guide.
G) Comments
TIPS allows you to make comments
at the Book, Chapter, Page and Part levels. See the Comments section of this guide.
H) Visual Table of Contents
The visual table of contents displays thumbnails of the pages in a parts catalog and icons of chapters when you're browsing the book. This same section displays page drawings and parts lists when you are viewing a page in a parts book as shown below:
H2) Page Viewer
When you're viewing a page of a parts catalog, the diagram and parts lists will be displayed
in place of the Visual Table of Contents.
I) Zoombar and Full Screen
The Zoombar allows you to zoom in and out of the diagram. It also contains a maximize to full screen button so that you can see a full screen view of the diagram.
J) Shop Cart
When you click on the shopping cart button, one (1) of that item will be added to your shopping cart. See the Shopping Carts section of the guide.
K) Part Info
The part info button will launch a screen with additional information about that part.
L) Related Media / Attachments
TIPS allows you to also relate
media at the Part level. There are two types of related media: you can relate something that already exists on the system to another item on the system (cross-linking), or you can upload as an attachment something from your local machine. See the Related Media section of this guide.
Note that the system automatically relates any other parts catalogs that use the same part number, so you can easily find other machines with the same part number just be checking the related media section of a part.
M) Comments
TIPS allows you to also make comments
at the Part level. See the Comments section of this guide.
