Related Media from within the system
The idea of related media from within the system is to cross-link one item on the system with another. For example, in the training materials library, there is a training material called "Gathering Head Maintenance". You may know that this exists on the system, but you would like others to know as well when they're viewing the gathering head chapter of a parts catalog.

You can relate media at any level including chapters. This means that you click on the related media button when viewing the gathering head of a parts catalog and relate that Gathering Head Maintenance training video to that gathering head chapter, so that anyone who views the gathering head chapter of that book, will see that there is a maintenance training video related to it. Related Media attachments from your local computer
The second type of related media is attachments. You can upload a file from your local hard drive as an attachment to a part, page, chapter, book or any other media item on the TIPS system. See how to relate media.

A) Related Media
The related media section will display as shown encompassed by section A in the screenshot.

B) New
Click to relate new media.

C) Actions
You can open items using the magnifier icon, and attach or detach related media by clicking on the chain link icon.

D) List of Related Media
Displays the items that are currently related within the chosen category from Section E.

F) Book level choice for related media
When relating media for a parts catalog, you can choose which section you'd like to relate to (part, page, chapter or book).

STEP 1) Click the New button.

STEP 2) Choose the type of media you'd like to relate:

Media within system:
Fill in the search box (or you can leave it blank) and click on the search button. Locate the media you'd like to relate, and in the actions column (Section C from above), click on the chain link to relate that item.

Attachment from your local computer:
Click on the browse button and select a file from your computer.

STEP 3) Fill in the comments field with a friendly name about this related media.

STEP 4) Choose your options

STEP 5) Click Upload
